At the 2012 Alzheimer's Association International Conference held in Vancouver earlier this summer, two studies of the affects of alcohol consumption and its affect on brain health later in life were released. Although light alcohol consumption is generally considered to have some health benefits, these studies highlight that the increase of usage later in life or the prolonged binging does have detrimental affects on brain health.
